Wine Cellar

Take a virtual tour of my wine cellar....

All of my wine is under environmental control (54 degrees F) with humidity usually around 60%. Basically what I have is an insulated closet in my basement with a Breezaire cooling unit.  The wine cellar (room) measures 16 feet long by 5 1/2 feet wide.  I have been purchasing fine wine since 1977.

The Breeaire unit is a split system. The air-handler is mounted on the wall in the cellar while the compressor is outside the house next to the main compressor for the central air.

The Breezaire cooling-unit air-handler can be seen in the top left (photo above). This particular unit cools 2000 bottles easily.

Seen above is the temperature in mid-summer which is kept on the cool side. All walls and racks are vibration-free! To the right is the entrance, a locked steel insulated door also hooked up to the main Brinks Security system! The door is plastered with labels from many wonderful memories!

Unfortunately due to medical condition I am unable to consume wine on a daily basis. I have a lot of wine which will soon be at it's prime, much more than I will be able to consume which is not what I had planned. As difficult as it is, I will be auctioning off a few bottles at WineCommune.com
